Hi all,
here are some details about Luxembourg City and my trip there.
How to arrive:
Depending on your location you can fly directly to Luxembourg, but the airport (Findel Airport) is not that big. Being bordered by France, Belgium and Germany the easiest and cheap way to arrive is actually by taking a flight that is landing in Brussels or Frankfurt. From there you can take the trains or the shuttle buses that takes you directly to Luxembourg.
You can get to Luxembourg City by taking City Bus no. 16. The ticket price is around 2 € for a two-hour journey. Also you can take the taxi, but it is more expensive, around 15-25 euro.
The
buses operate weekdays between 5.28am and 9.09pm, every 15 minutes, and
Sundays between 6.24am and 21.58pm, every 30 minute. Most buses stop
nearby the center of the city or nearby the train station area. If you
want to buy 10 tickets, you will receive a 20% discount.
During my trip, I took the train from Brussels Gare du Midi to Luxembourg train station. It is a very safe and nice way to see the landscape from the 2 countries.
